Title : The Sultanate of Tranquility
Medium : Art Prin
The Sultanate of Tranquility is a visual acknowledgement to Brunei Darussalam—a nation where tradition, faith, and nature coexist in quiet harmony. Through this piece, I seek to capture the serene soul of the country: its golden mosque nestled among luscious greenery of Tasek Lama Recreational Park, Bandar Seri Begawan and collectively close to Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Bridge, also known as Temburong Bridge. Then, deep within the greenery of Brunei, endangered creatures move like whispers. Their presence is felt more than seen—a rustle in the undergrowth, a shadow slipping between vines, eyes gleaming briefly before vanishing into green silence.
Here, in this thriving community, life clings to survival. These endangered souls remain hidden not by choice, but by necessity—sheltering from the encroaching noise of constructions, roads, and change. The rainforest is their refuge, their final sanctuary. And in their silence, they ask a question only we can answer: Will we let them fade unseen, or will we fight for their return to the light?
Brunei Darussalam is often described as "The Abode of Peace," and this artwork reflects that spirit by blending development with natural landscapes. From the flowing geometry to the delicate presence of endangered species within the greenery, every detail is a meditation on balance—between heritage and progress, stillness and movement, the sacred and the wild.
At a time when the world grows louder and more fragmented, The Sultanate of Tranquility invites viewers to pause, breathe, and reflect. It is not just a portrait of a place, but a vision of what peace can look like—rooted in identity, nourished by nature, and upheld by a deep respect for all life.
