Title : I Am What You Wear, I Am What I Am
Medium : Installation Video

The video installation I Am What You Wear, I Am What I Am explores socio-cultural identity through the interplay of analogue media and physical materials. Six analogue television units (CRT) display live video feeds captured by cameras recording facial expressions. The video signals are transmitted via RCA composite cables, producing a retro aesthetic characterised by scanlines and faded colours. This visual texture reinforces the work’s reflection on the relationship between humans, technology, and fashion.
Mannequins, positioned beneath the televisions functioning as “heads,” wear different garments that symbolise variations of social identity. Together, these elements illustrate how clothing and media shape both self-perception and public perception, while inviting reflection on the fluid and impermanent nature of identity within contemporary social and cultural life.
